Late today, we learned that DOJ's special counsel for the January 6 insurrection Jack Smith issued subpoenas to Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner regarding their dealings with the Malignant Loser that day and in the weeks leading up to it:
'The decision by the special counsel, Jack Smith, to subpoena Ms. Trump and Mr. Kushner underscores how deeply into Mr. Trump’s inner circle Mr. Smith is reaching, and is the latest sign that no potential high-level witness is off limits. [snip]
It is unclear whether Mr. Trump will seek to block Ms. Trump and Mr. Kushner from testifying on the grounds of executive privilege, as he has tried with some other witnesses. Both of them served as White House officials in the Trump administration. Mr. Trump declined to try to stop them from testifying before the House special committee that investigated the Jan. 6 attack and what led to it."
According to their testimony to the Congressional January 6 Committee, which was often riddled with claims that they forgot certain things, they were privy to the Malignant Loser's mindset before and during the events that day, for example whether they ever heard him admit he'd lost the election and trying to calm him down on the 6th. Whether their memory fades or they take the Fifth Amendment before the grand jury remains to be seen, but it has to worry the Malignant Loser and other conspirators near him, especially if the two are given immunity from prosecution to testify fully.
