Florida's fascistic Governor, book banning / Mickey Mouse battling Ron "Bootsie" DeSantis will announce his run for President today in a bizarre Twitter hookup with white supremacist-boosting mogul Elon Musk. Oh, the anticipation! The Associated Press has the background:
"The 44-year-old Republican governor plans to announce his decision in an online conversation with Twitter CEO Elon Musk, according to two people with knowledge of the decision. They spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because they weren’t authorized to discuss the announcement publicly.
The audio-only event will be streamed on Twitter Spaces beginning at 6 p.m. EDT. He will follow up with a round of prime-time appearances on conservative programs, including Fox News and Mark Levin’s radio show."
Odd that he isn't holding the traditional rally announcement and chose an "audio only" event with egomaniac Musk. DeSantis has been plagued with justified criticism from voters and donors that he's cold and lacks the human touch that's so critical in retail politics, avoiding crowds, small talk and fundraisers where he has to actually mingle with people and ask for their money.
His war with the Disney Corporation over their LGBTQ+ support is generally acknowledged as a loser, with the potential of making him more of a national laughing stock if he loses to the entertainment giant. Disney recently pulled a $1 billion project out of Florida due to his attack on them. Adding to that, the Malignant Loser's broadsides against "Meatball Ron" will only accelerate as he tries to put his Florida rival away before the first primaries, and before the he's indicted in several venues.
