You don't need a Simulacron to know the far-right Republican / Trumpist base has been living in an alternative reality for many years, one of blind worship of a demagogic, lying, mentally disordered ex-President. Most of his diehards are unreachable, delusional and often violent. The danger they represent to democracy was on full display on January 6, 2021, and they have to be defeated at the polls, and in courts of law.
