Mid-Week Songs

The most influential and enduring band to come out of San Francisco in the 1960s was the Grateful Dead, led by guitarist and lead singer Jerry Garcia.  Garcia, who died in 1995, would have celebrated his 81st birthday yesterday, so today we'll dedicate two of their most popular songs from his band's catalogue. Enjoy.

"God Damn, well I declare/Have you seen the like?
Their walls are built of cannon balls/Their motto is 'Don't tread on me.'"

Prescient or just perceptive?
