MAGA Mike Johnson Protecting The Insurrectionists

 

It's widely known that Christofascist Speaker of the House MAGA Mike Johnson (Party of Orange Jeebus-LA) was a ringleader in Congress for the plot to overthrow the 2020 election by accepting false slates of electors. He's furthering his seditious behavior during that time by obstructing public efforts to identify the violent and criminal Trumpist mob that attacked the Capitol on January 6. From CNN:

"House Speaker Mike Johnson said Tuesday that before publicly releasing footage of the US Capitol attack on January 6, 2021, the faces of the mob will be blurred to protect them from the Justice Department.

The Louisiana Republican said during a news conference that he wants to make sure rioters don’t get prosecuted.

“We’re going through a methodical process of releasing them as quickly as we can,” Johnson said. “As you know, we have to blur some of the faces of persons who participated in events of that day because we don’t want them to be retaliated against and to be charged by the DOJ and to have other, you know, concerns and problems.”

He added: “So that’s a slow process to get it done.”

Federal investigators and prosecutors already have footage from the Capitol’s security cameras and have used it to charge and prosecute members of the mob that day.

But online sleuths and individuals from the public have previously helped to identify many people from images taken during the riot, and blurring the faces of people at the Capitol that day could hamper the potential for additional public tips."  (our emphasis)

Online sleuths like Sedition Hunters have been successful in identifying many dozens of the thugs that committed acts of violence that day through the use of social media and facial recognition technology. Other patriotic private citizens have viewed photos and videos of the mob on the Justice Department / FBI website and picked out and reported many dozens more, turning in friends and even family.

Yet Johnson, who is frighteningly second in line to the Presidency, wants to curtail the identification, arrest and prosecution of these Trumpist thugs by blurring their faces in the footage, obstructing lawful efforts to punish them for their crimes. This is clearly one of those actions that is only meant to please his cult leader, the Malignant Loser, and not meant to get justice for the violent mob whom he's attempting to protect.
