I have been to a Siemens wind turbine blade plant in IA, and their generator plant in KS. The power produced by wind is less expensive than coal fired. The industry is working on siting mitigation and other deterrents to reduce bird deaths. Many more birds are killed by coal mining habitat destruction than wind turbines. Cats kill over 70% of birds. As far as beached whales, currently there is next to no North American cean based wind power capacity. So it ain't the turbines. Maybe the climate change has more to do with it. Wind power is a job creator. Constructing, installing, and maintaing. Jesus these people are nuts.
