Trump Fraud Deposition Tapes Released

Yesterday, New York Attorney General Letitia James' office released excerpts of the video tape of the Malignant Loser's April 13, 2023, deposition in the fraud case brought by the State of New York that's wrapping up soon. It's full of his usual braggadocio, grandiose lies and vitriol, but it also reveals just how much he thinks his company is worth, and that should be helpful in the E. Jean Carroll defamation trial for assessing a suitable penalty. From the NBC report:

"The full 479-page written transcript of the deposition was released last year, but excerpts of the video of his questioning were made public Friday by the AG's office. James has accused Trump and the Trump Organization of falsely inflating their assets to get bank loans at rates he otherwise would not have been entitled to. Trump maintains the financial documents the AG said were enormously inflated were actually conservative.

'We didn't include billions of dollars in brand value,' Trump said in the deposition. The financial statements explicitly say they don't include brand value, but the AG's office said he did include it for some of the properties listed in it.

'If I wanted to show you a good statement, I would have added maybe $10 billion or something for the brand,' Trump said. 'I mean I became president because of the brand, OK. I became president. I think it's the hottest brand in the world.'" (our emphasis)

In the excerpts, the Malignant Loser risibly claimed he was too busy as President saving the world from nuclear war to be overseeing his business finances. This is the lazy slug that was on a golf course more than he was in the Oval Office, which he didn't enter until nearly noon each day.

If the Malignant Loser takes the stand in the defamation trial next week, E. Jean Carroll's attorneys could confront him with the video excerpts from the other trial bragging about his finances, as the jury assesses his worth in determining punitive damages to be awarded to Carroll.
