What's That Musk-y Smell? Defeat In Court

Right-wing crashing car and rocket mogul Elon Musk is forever claiming to be a "free speech" advocate, but only when he agrees with the speech. He made that clear when he sued the Center for Countering Digital Hate (CCDH) for studying and reporting on increasing hate speech on "X" since Musk purchased the platform in October 2022. Musk claimed that CCDH violated the platform's terms of service, and caused damage to the site by driving advertisers away and spotlighting hate speech monitoring failures.

Yesterday, U.S. District Court Judge Charles Breyer dismissed Musk's suit, throwing it out in a stinging rebuke to Musk for using the suit to punish critics of "X" and, by extension, himself for CCDH's reporting on the surge of neo-Nazi, white supremacist and anti-Semitic that he's permitted, including the Malignant Loser, Newtown massacre denier Alex Jones, and white supremacist / anti-Semite Nick Fuentes.

While Musk plans to appeal the decision, it was a good day for anti-hate speech advocates and true advocates of free speech, not just the false kind Musk promotes.
