Let The Veepstakes Begin

With Vice President Kamala Harris' nomination a near certainty, political pundits are looking at possible choices for her vice presidential nominee. Fortunately, she has a wealth of able candidates to choose from. Some prognosticators have candidates like California Gov. Gavin Newsom (two Californians on the ticket? Not likely or Constitutional), Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (two females would be historic, but not likely), and Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzger (a billionaire might undercut Dem messaging).  More likely candidates include Sen. Mark Kelly (AZ), a Navy combat veteran and astronaut), North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper, a popular Dem from a state Dems hope to win, and Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro, an articulate and popular governor from a swing state. Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg are frequently mentioned, too.

It's an embarrassment of riches when you look at the entire field she has to pick from once her nomination has been secured, which is moving rapidly ahead.

Couldn't find a better candidate than term-limited Washington Governor, and one-time contemporaneous primary presidential candidate Jay Inslee. A solid track-record as governor and outstanding environmental accolades. Harris/Inslee '24 ~ that's the ticket

Too true! The Dem bench is deep...an embarrassment of riches! My first choice is Pete Buttigieg, but I know that this would be a bit too much diversity all at once for some. I will support anyone Kamala chooses because it's time for this country to get bluer! 💙✊
