o At 8:00 Eastern tonight, three days after announcing he would not run for re-election, President Biden will address the nation from the Oval Office. He's expected to give a fuller explanation of the reasons for that decision, as well as what his priorities are for the remaining 6 months of his Presidency. His selfless act, something so alien to MAGA Republicans and their cult leader, has re- energized the Democratic base, as evidenced by the record- breaking $250 million in campaign contributions since the President made his announcement and Vice President Harris became the presumptive nominee, and by the enthusiasm of Harris' first campaign appearance in swing state Wisconsin. Also, a Reuters/Ipsos poll taken Monday and Tuesday showed Harris with a 2 point lead over Trump, which only translates to victory if she wins in those critical battleground states.
o This afternoon, Trump's man in Israel, Prime Minister "Bibi" Netanyahu, will address a Joint Session of Congress, an invitation made to him by small- bore Squeaker "MAGA Mike" Johnson in an attempt to embarrass President Biden. Vice President Harris will not be sitting behind Bibi during his address due to a scheduling conflict, something MAGA Mike was eager to turn into a puny political cudgel. But Biden and Harris are scheduling private meetings with Bibi, who is also planning on meeting with the easily manipulated Trump at Mar-a-Lardo this week.
o Finally, as noted above, Democratic fundraising has gone through the roof.
The coordinated Harris campaign reported Tuesday morning that they had raised more than $100 million from 1.1 million donors in the first 41 hours after President Biden announced he was stepping aside. FF PAC, also known as Future Forward, the largest outside group supporting Biden, announced $150 million in commitments in the first 24 hours after Biden’s Sunday afternoon announcement.
But, with MAGAts like exploding car magnate Elon "The Twit" Musk pledging tens of millions of dollars to the Trump campaign (or not), we're going to need every penny we can raise for advertising, organizing, and get- out- the- vote efforts just to stay relatively even. The MAGAts are already beginning their well- funded campaign of smears and lies about the Vice President, so resources also have to be applied to countering their ugly messaging.

Trying to ignore the ugliness toward VP Harris while I'm screaming at the ugliness is making my head bust open! 🤯 Wow! An adult female dated other adults...what a slut! I don't know why Harris is childless (is it choice or heartache?) and it's nobody's business! A wonderful meme is circulating reminding us that not a single U.S. President has given birth to a child, but now it seems to be important to the haters!
