Dem Polling Far Ahead In NC Governor's Race

North Carolina's Attorney General Josh Stein (D) has opened up a 14 point lead over his MAGA opponent, unhinged Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson, according to a new High Point University / SurveyUSA poll. The results are comparable to an earlier poll by the New York Times / Sienna College indicating Stein's lead was 10 points over Robinson.

The big lead has implications for the national ticket, as it appears Robinson's poor showing may have the effect of dragging the Malignant Loser's polls down with him. North Carolina has emerged as a battleground state this election cycle, with poll numbers for V.P. Harris showing her leading 46% to 45%, within the margin of error. A reasonable chance at North Carolina's 16 electoral votes -- the same as Georgia, and one more than Michigan -- would expand V.P. Harris' avenues for victory, but it's still a reach.

Robinson has become notorious for several statements he's made, including one on June 30 in a church that "some folks need killing." The radical, far-right Robinson has also indicated that he would reject $1.6 billion in Federal education funds for North Carolina's schools, damaging them severely. He would be a dangerous governor should he close the gap and win in November, but it appears the voters in North Carolina are not willing to take that chance.
