Yale history professor and expert of authoritarianism Timothy Snyder was interviewed on the Malignant Loser's dishonest attempt to distance himself from Project 2025's extremist agenda, which dozens of his own former staff wrote so that he could implement his fascist vision of Government starting the day of his inauguration. From MSNBC (quote begins at 2:43):
"He's trusting that his people will believe him, no matter what he says. That is part of an authoritarian dynamic where you can lie to your own people and then you can say something completely different the next time and they nod their heads and say, ‘Oh yes, I knew it all along.’ That’s part of what it means to belong to that sort of thing. The shift is basically a scam.
He doesn’t have another transition team besides the people who are involved in writing Project 2025 and he doesn’t have another transition plan asides what’s written down in Agenda 47 and Project 25. That is it. That is the thing. There is no other thing. He can try to relabel it but as you say, what it stands for is quite clear. You're going to wreck the Federal Government, replace anybody who has any sense of responsibility with political appointees, allow what they call the 'administrative state' to cease to exist, which means that the Federal Government can't do anything for anybody. That means children won't get food assistance. It means Medicare deteriorates. It means pretty much everything the Federal Government does no longer works."
Of course, in the Malignant Loser's sick mind the Federal Government will work under Project 2025: for his personal interests, and for his retribution. It's a model of Government more suited to the regimes in Germany, Italy and Spain in the 1930s.
