Former Republican Vice President Dick Cheney will vote for Kamala Harris, his daughter former U.S. Rep. Liz Cheney said at The Texas Tribune Festival.
Liz Cheney also endorsed Democrat Colin Allred in his race to beat Republican U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz.
Liz Cheney previously endorsed Harris.
Trump's own VP Mike Pence won't vote for him. Now the previous Republican VP is voting for Harris. This adds to the permission structure for national conservatives to support VP Harris, in the spirit of country over party. Every vote, even Dick Cheney's, counts. (Also, good for her for working to elect Colin Allred, too!)
BONUS: He's now issued this blistering statement --
“In our nation’s 248-year history, there has never been an individual who is a greater threat to our republic than Donald Trump. He tried to steal the last election using lies and violence to keep himself in power after the voters had rejected him. He can never be trusted with power again.
“As citizens, we each have a duty to put country above partisanship to defend our Constitution. That is why I will be casting my vote for Vice President Kamala Harris.”

If you told me 10 years ago that Liz Cheney would be one of the few sane and honorable Republicans in the world, I would've thought you're crazy! What's next, MTG becoming a voice of reason in 2032?
I am not surprised by either Liz or Dick Cheney announcing for Harris. I recall my impression of them forever changed on Jan. 6, 2022. An anniversary ceremony honoring law enforcement who protected the Capitol was held on the House floor. THE ONLY 2 ELECTED REPUBLICANS WHO SHOWED UP were Liz and Dick Cheney!! Country over party means something and they know it!! 🇺🇸🇺🇸✊✊👏👏
I would not expect the guy who initiated Project for a New American Century's (PNAC) middle east forever wars for no reason (let Bin Laden get away, pretend WMD, try to steal oil) would vote against Project 2025. But he is the guy who shot his friend in the face while drunk hunting - and the guy apologized for getting his face in the way of Cheney's rifle. Anything is possible.
