Weekend Music

We're coming up on the anniversary of the tragic death of early rock/ rockabilly icon Eddie Cochran, who was killed in an auto accident while on tour in Bath, England, on April 17, 1960, at the age of 21.  (Fellow rock icon Gene Vincent was also seriously injured in the crash.) A multi- talented musician who wrote most of his songs, the Albert Lea, Minnesota native pioneered many recording techniques, such as overdubbing and multi- track recording.  Although his career was relatively short, Cochran influenced generations of rock musicians, including John Lennon, Paul McCartney, The Who, Jimi Hendrix, David Bowie, U2, the White Stripes, and the Rolling Stones. His biggest hit, "Summertime Blues," has been covered by a number of artists, but we're going with two other favorites of ours, "Somethin' Else" and "C'mon Everybody," which demonstrate his pneumatic rock style.  Hope you enjoy.
