Singer / songwriter Leon Bridges' new album, "Happiness Anytime," will be released on September 25.  A nice track was released recently, "Talk It Over," and the video for it has some great choreography.  Check it out, and enjoy.

Weekend Music Twofer

Texas trio Khruangbin and fellow Texan/ soul singer/ songwriter Leon Bridges collaborated on an EP, "Texas Sun," which will be out in February 2020.  We're highlighting the catchy title track from that EP.

We're also offering a belated happy 75th birthday to original Byrd, bassist Chris Hillman, whose birthday was December 4.  Here's an early composition by Hillman, "Have You Seen Her Face," from The Byrds' "Younger Than Yesterday" album.  The Allmusic guide considers it one of The Byrds' greatest songs, and we won't argue with that. Mid-Week Good Thing Song

We first featured singer Leon Bridges in 2015 when he released his album "Coming Home." Since then, Bridges has acquired a large following. His urban contemporary style is reminiscent of r & b artists like the late Sam Cooke and late Otis Redding: soulful, evocative and melodic. Artist Leon Bridges' soulful gospel / r&b music has echoes of Sam Cooke, Otis Redding and other great singers. His latest album, "Coming Home," has drawn critical praise, and he's made appearances at the White House, and on popular shows like Saturday Night Live, and Austin City Limits, where he sang the haunting "River," accompanied by vocalist Brittni Jessie.  Enjoy.

Leon Bridges is an up-and-coming R&B / gospel singer from Ft. Worth, TX.  His music evokes the rhythms and sounds of '60s artists like Sam Cooke, as does the vintage clothing he wears while performing.  His first album, "Coming Home," was released last June, and this title cut from the album has since gone viral.  Enjoy.
