Johnnie Walnuts Tours Baghdad
Sen. Johnnie Walnuts (R-Ariz.), joined by other delusional Rebunglecans, made a surprise visit to Baghdad this past weekend. Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-Closet) purchased some to-die-for rugs while Walnuts, touring the same central Baghdad market, voiced "cautious, very cautious optimism about the effects of the new strategy." He also criticized the news media for not giving the American public the "full story" on Iraq - i.e., the "good news" that Walnuts apparently thinks is being shrouded by... what is that obfuscating material?... oh, yes, the smoke and dust from the bombs going off this weekend:
-- a parked car exploding in a garage in western Baghdad, killing three and wounding 10;
-- a suicide car bomb exploding in southern Baghdad killing four, including two policemen, and wounding six;
-- a roadside bomb killing six U.S. soldiers southwest of Baghdad on Sunday.
Please note when you see Walnuts touring the "safe" market in central Baghdad that he is wearing a flak jacket and has a security cordon of about 100 troops and five helicopters overhead. Not what the average Iraqi would be able to call upon when going out to shop.
