"Did I Say 100 Years? I Meant 16 Months"

Having been caught flatfooted by Iraqi Prime Minister Maliki's statement essentially endorsing Sen. Obama's 16-month troop withdrawal timeframe, Sen. St. John McFlipper has now said that a 16 month timeframe is "a pretty good timetable." With the freely-elected Iraqi government on record as supporting troop withdrawal sooner rather than later, McFlipper had no choice, except to call for Iraq becoming a permanent colony of the U.S. (he'll leave that to neocon nutbag Charles Kraphammer).

So let's see, McFlipper's trimmed his positions on immigration and tax breaks for the wealthy to please the Rethuglican base, and now he's trimming his position on the Iraq War. His last remaining tactic is to issue schoolyard taunts at his Democratic opponent to "say the surge succeeded. . I dare ya! Nyah, nyah!" Most Americans have moved on, have recognized Iraq as a costly blunder and distraction, and are looking at the issue of which candidate can wrap up the mess in Mess o' Potamia. It's not McStraightTalk.
