A quick look at the post-debate polls reveals that the majority of viewers thought that Sen. Obama won last night's debate over Sen. Metamucil McCranky. The CNN poll gave Obama a 51 to 38 edge as to which did the best job in the debate, with Obama getting a 52 to 47 edge over McCranky on who would do a better job of handling Iraq. On the key issue of who would do a better job on the economy, Obama won by his largest percentage, 58 to 37.
CBS polled uncommitted voters, and Obama won the night by an almost 2 to 1 margin, 40 to 22. As to who would make the right decisions on the economy, Obama scored a whopping 66.
As a footnote, some pundits are commenting on McCranky's angry demeanor throughout the debate, and particularly his refusal to make eye contact with Obama. When confronted by Obama, McCranky chose to look away or down at the lecturn, which is usually the mark of someone with something to hide.
