Worth Reading

CNN's Jack Cafferty (possibly the only reason for tuning in to CNN these days) has a sharp rebuke to the Rethugs holding their convention this week. He notes that over 10 percent of Rethuglican Senators are not bothering to show up: "they recognize dog food when they see it." The nation will be spared a full four days of fibbing, spinning and unctuous speechifying, thanks (if that's the word) to Hurricane Gustav's center stage drama. But the Rethugs have made it clear that they will spare nothing in their attempt to hold on to power, regardless of the damage the last 8 years have done to America. It's going to get dirtier.
