"Where's the Audacity?"

The best read this Sunday morning is this piece in the WaPo by Peter Dreier and Marshall Ganz, "We Have the Hope, Now Where's the Audacity?" The authors summarize what we've been addressing, sometimes piecemeal, as the puzzling incoherence - and, yes, lack of audacity - on the part of the Obama Administration in the struggle for health care reform. The article describes how we got to "this point" when, just months ago, an overwhelming majority of Americans not only had confidence in Obama to deliver reform, but backed a "public option" by a 3-1 margin. It also provides a strategy for rescuing reform, part of which involves overcoming corporate Dems like Rahmbo and the Baucus caucus/ Blue Dogs.

The New York Times agrees: stop retreating on health reform!
