What The Rethugs Really Want: Kill Health Insurance Reform

It's been pretty clear for months now that the Rethug Party wants to defeat any health insurance reform regardless of the approach taken. It's politics over the American people. Increasingly, after the astroturfing nonsense of the town hall meetings that they promoted, the Rethugs see their opportunity to take down President Obama's presidency through the defeat of health insurance reform. And they're not even trying to hide it.

First it was Rethug Sen. Jim "Demented" DeMint who said such a defeat would be the President's "Waterloo." Now we have two more reactionary clowns basically saying the same thing. Think Progress has the story of Rethug Sens. Robert "The Undertaker" Bennett and John "Ass-o" Barrasso voicing support for the defeat of reform, despite Bennett's cynical co-sponsorship of a "reform" bill with Dem Sen. Ron Wyden -- which he apparently wouldn't vote for himself. Again, time to expose their game-playing for what it is, and move on.
