Buh Bayh
Conserva-Dem Sen. Evan "Buh" Bayh is announcing that he won't run for reelection this year. Buh Bayh is one of several Senators who like to distance themselves from progressive causes and align themselves with the "bipartisan" mirage. The lack of "bipartisanship" was one of the reasons Buh is citing for turning tail. The Rethugs will certainly rejoice at the bipartisan opportunity to pick up another seat in the Senate.
In an interesting note, Buh Bayh didn't let Senate Majority "Leader" Harry "Thin" Reid know of his decision before it was disclosed to the press. That shows two things: Buh's lack of class and respect for his party, and Reid's pathetic leadership.
UPDATE: Apparently Buh's surprise decision leaves Dems until this FRIDAY (!) to put a replacement candidate up. Which means no Dem primary, only selection of a candidate by the state's Dem party officials. Nice move, Buh.
UPDATE 2: Jed Lewison has a positive take for Dems over at Daily Kos.
