Time To Dispose of The Diaper

Louisiana Rethug Sen. David "Diaper" Vitter has been avoiding the press of late, because there's a brewing scandal involving a member of his Senate staff. But yesterday, he faced press questions about staff member Brent Furer's arrest in 2008 for holding his girlfriend hostage, threatening her with a knife and cutting her in the hand and neck. Furer, who resigned last month, was reportedly in charge of women's issues for the Senator. Diaper knew about the assault charge and didn't dismiss Furer despite the disturbing circumstances.

The Senator, who liked to wear diapers during encounters with prostitutes a few years ago (remember the DC Madam case?), is up for reelection, and his odd attitude toward the treatment women should be made a central issue in evaluating his fitness for office.
