You may have seen the idea-free, platitude-riddled TV spots that are running for "SarahPAC," the political "action" committee for the former half-term Governor of Alaska. Winky's PAC is raising money ostensibly for similar far-right candidates for office, but her Federal Election Commission filings tell a different story. In the last few months, the Wasilla grifter's group gave $87,500 to right-wing candidates, while spending $210,000 on "consulting." That would mean on the people who write her speeches, Facebook policy pronouncements, and tweets, or who otherwise fill her empty head. There might be a hair and fashion consultant or two in that figure.
Knowing how to separate rubes from their money is a required talent for grifters like Winky, but leaving the rubes smiling after they know they've been fleeced is a special gift.
