The Lady is Freed

So little good news these days that it was uplifting to see that Nobel Prize laureate Aung San Suu Kyi has been released from house arrest by the Myanmar dictators after 15 long years. What will happen now is uncertain, and Suu Kyi said "we have a lot of things to do" to the thousands of supporters who greeted her. We hope for the best, but the military dictators running Myanmar are brutal, and this may only be temporary freedom for Suu Kyi. The international community has to make it clear to the dictators that her freedom is an absolute precondition to any further dealings, trade, etc. with the Myanmar government.
