Desperate efforts are underway to save the Fukushima Dai-ichi nuclear power plant north of Tokyo from melt-down following Friday's catastrophic earthquake. None of the end-game scenarios looks very promising, but the hope is that measures undertaken so far will minimize loss of life. Awful.
