Rethugs: Please Ignore This Poll

A new NBC/Wall Street Journal poll should give Rethugs a case of the vapors. The wide-ranging poll of Americans reveals that more than 60 percent are concerned that Rethugs will go too far (hard to believe) in cutting programs that they support, and a whopping 81 percent feel that an income surtax on those making $1 million and more would be the best way to reduce the deficit, followed by earmark elimination (78%), reduced Defense spending (76%), and eliminating oil and gas industry tax credits (74%). Not exactly what Rethuglicans are offering, is it?

We fervently hope that the true believing, teahadist-fearing Rethuglicans in Congress will ignore these findings, and drive their party off a high political cliff by sticking to their core principles: tax breaks for the super wealthy, shoveling money at the Pentagon, and cutting programs that benefit the middle class and elderly. Oh, and throw in union-busting, too. As clueless Charlie Sheen might say, "Winning!"
