Michael Tomasky, writing in the Daily Beast, doesn't see much hope now or in the future for Obama to hold the line -- any line -- against the Rethugs. Thus, rather than being a transformational President as Obama had said he wanted to be, he's turning out to be a transactional President. Tomasky posits that Obama would rather be the most reasonable, unflappable man in the room than fight for a principle.
His analysis seems to be bearing out time after time.
