Deal Reached on Payroll Tax Cut Extension

Following the capitulation of House Rethugs earlier this week, Congress is set to vote tomorrow on extensions of the payroll tax cut and unemployment insurance. [As an aside, the vote is likely to split Rethugs between the Weeper of the House "Orange Boner" camp and the elevator-doesn't-go-to-the-top-floor teatard camp. Lovin' it.] The additional money in the pockets of working Americans is likely to keep the economy on a recovery arc, while the extension of the unemployment insurance safety net now runs through the end of 2012.

This is what can happen when President Obama and Democrats stand firm and don't allow fringe teatards to dictate policy. Let's see more of those tactics in the future.
