A tenuous cease fire is still holding between Israel and Hamas, despite a shooting incident where a Palestinian was shot and killed at the border earlier today. Key to the cease fire was the constructive influence of Egypt's government under Mohammed Morsi, and the active engagement of President Obama and Secretary of State Clinton. In particular, Clinton is garnering praise for helping to broker the cease fire agreement just as Israeli military action against Hamas was imminent.
Secretary Clinton will be leaving the Obama Administration after four years of exceptional service with this cease fire as another achievement to point to. Whether she runs for President in 2016 (run Hillary!) or not, she's earned a well-deserved rest and the respect of her country.
