Rice Cooked

U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice has withdrawn her name from consideration for Secretary of State. The President accepted her decision today. In her letter withdrawing, Rice said:
"If nominated, I am now convinced that the confirmation process would be lengthy, disruptive and costly -- to you and to our most pressing national and international priorities. That trade-off is simply not worth it to our country ... Therefore, I respectfully request that you no longer consider my candidacy at this time."
If the next shoe to drop is the nomination of oh, crap Sen. John Kerry, the Rethuglican plan to return Scott "Cosmo" Brown to the Senate will have entered its next phase. Shame on the Rethuglicans (especially Sen. Grampypants McCain and Sen. Huckleberry Closetcase Graham) for their cynical -- and successful -- effort to smear Rice and deny the President (who should have stood firm) his choice.
