Senate Gives Lieberman Appropriate Sendoff

We had to smile when we read this passage in the New York Times' coverage of the farewell address of Democratic Party turncoat and Droopy Dog lookalike Sen. Joe Lieberliar (Party of Joe-CT):
"Mr. Lieberman arrived in the Senate chamber to deliver what he declared would be his farewell speech.... With only a few of his Senate colleagues in attendance and the gallery sparsely filled, Mr. Lieberman, 70, expressed gratitude for the opportunity he had to serve, and then vividly recalled how much the world had changed since he was sworn in on Jan. 3, 1989."
In other words, he got the sendoff he deserved. After embracing Dumbya's reckless invasion of Iraq and supporting the McCain/Palin ticket in 2008, Lieberliar was unwelcome in the party that made him its Vice Presidential candidate in 2000. Despite this record, President Obama prevailed upon Senate Democrats not to boot his butt out of his chairmanship of the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee after the 2008 elections. His fickle loyalties didn't appeal to the voters of Connecticut, and rather than lose in this year's election, he decided to retire.

Surely, there will be life after the Senate for this self-righteous gasbag: we expect to see him bloviating on the cable news (cough cough Fux) circuit, as a booster for certain (cough cough bomb Iran) causes, and as a false "centrist" who fixes the ultimate blame for all bad things on the Democrats because they won't meet the Rethuglicans 99% of the way.

Buh-bye and don't let the door hit you....

BONUS: Charles P. Pierce wasn't a fan of Lieberliar either.
