Dick Trickle, stock-car driver, dies in apparent suicide at 71

Here's the full article in the once great Washington Post Kaplan Daily, noting that he once carved a hole in his helmet in order to puff on a cigarette while on a warm-up lap.  Quite successful in short track racing, Trickle later joined the NASCAR circuit.  Former ESPN anchors Keith Olbermann and Dan Patrick jokingly made a point of reporting where he finished in a race, no matter how far back in the pack.  RIP.
