Susan Rice To Be National Security Advisor

President Obama intends to appoint U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice to the position of National Security Advisor today.  Rice was considered earlier this year for the Secretary of State post, but was smeared by the right wing over the Benghazi! BENGHAZI!! talking points kerfuffle.  She will succeed the resigning Tom Donilan. Rice is generally seen as more interventionist than many on Obama's national security team, and will add a strong presence to the national security team.

It's expected that the President will name long time national security professional Samantha Powers to replace Rice.
