The outrageous "not guilty" verdict in the Zimmerman murder trial might prompt new murders by gun-toting vigilantes on the right, who will see the verdict as a green light to pursue innocent people who look "suspicious" or "out of place" (i.e. black or Latino) under the "stand-your-ground" laws of so many states. Trayvon Martin was in the place he should have been, minding his own business, heading home. Zimmerman was not, and his aggressive pursuit of Martin precipitated the fatal confrontation. The NRA and ALEC wingnuts who pushed the stand-your-ground laws have blood on their hands as much as Zimmerman.
BONUS: Drudge/ Fox/ Dumbest Man on the Internet and assorted other wingnuts are just dying to have imaginary race war turn into the real thing. They might get some blood on their hands, too.
