De Blasio Well Ahead In NYC Race
New polls out show New York City public advocate Bill de Blasio leading in the city's Democratic primary race for mayor with 36 percent. If any candidate gets 40 percent or more on election day (less than 2 weeks away), a runoff election will not be required. Following de Blasio in the Quinnipiac poll is City Council Speaker Christine Quinn at 21 percent, and Bill Thompson at 20 percent. Cyber flasher Carlos Danger Anthony Weiner continues to deflate (sorry) with only 8 percent support.
Given the party makeup of the electorate in New York City, the Dem candidate will be a very strong favorite to win the general election in November.
