The Games Putin Plays

Russian leader and would-be manly man Vladimir "Little Czar" Putin isn't known for his respect of democratic institutions or freedom.  Now, he has an up-and-coming star to deal with:  Alexei Navalny, who is running on an anti-corruption ticket for the Mayor of Moscow.  Navalny has been an outspoken critic of the Little Czar's corruption and authoritarian policies, so naturally, he was charged with embezzlement and sentenced to prison for five years.  The U.S. ambassador and others called the case politically motivated, and while Navalny is free to campaign while he appeals his conviction, it's clear the the Little Czar will stop at nothing to maintain power.
