Landmark LGBT Legislation Passes Senate

The Employee Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA) passed the Senate yesterday by a bipartisan vote of 64 to 32 with 10 Republicans voting for the measure which would outlaw discrimination on the basis of sexual preference or identity in the workplace.  However, the prospects for the legislation to even be taken up by the radical right wing teabagger-controlled House of Representatives are slim at best.  Some Dems in the House want to file a discharge petition that would require every Dem and a couple of dozen Republicans to vote to bring the legislation to the floor for a vote.  That, too, seems highly unlikely.

Weeper of the House John "Mr. Tangerine Man" Boehner is using the canards of "job killer" and "frivolous lawsuits" as his flimsy excuses for once again bowing to the American Taliban in his own party.  He's become nothing more than a cork bobbing on an angry sea of tea.

BONUS:   Among those Republican Senators who voted against ENDA?   Liberty-lovin' libertarian Sen. "Ayn" Rand Paul, cult hero of certain tunnel-vision left-libertarians =cough=Greenwald =cough=Assange= cough=Sirota.  Liberty for me, discrimination for thee.
