Now that man-on-the-make Rep. Paul "Lyin'" Ryan has unveiled his "compromise" budget proposal -- which didn't go far enough to satisfy the far-right's blood lust for gutting the social safety net and programs for the working poor -- Ryan and the Congressional Rethuglican establishment is taking major heat from the wingnut Wurlitzer organizations. When Weeper of the House John "Mr. Tangerine Man" Boehner snapped at the far-right organizations at his press conference yesterday (and again today), they weren't pleased. They're not used to having their employees speak up.
Organizations like Heritage Action, Freedom Works, Americans for Prosperity and dozens like them exist to raise money off of the goobers that think America is going to hell in a hand basket because of the Marxist Fascist Monarchist Kenyan in the White House. That money, plus the substantial funds provided by some of the Kochs and Adelsons of the world, then is used as campaign leverage to get the Rethug politicians to toe the far-right line: deep tax cuts on upper income earners, gutting environmental and safety regulations, and laws that aim to roll back civil and voting rights.
The revolt of these influence groups couldn't come at a better time before the 2014 mid-term elections. Already tea bagger candidates are challenging conservative Senators and Congressmen who aren't crazy right-wing enough, or have violated some purity test. Let the games begin.
