In a 58 - 40 vote, the Senate failed to stop a Teapublican filibuster threat and pass emergency legislation to extend unemployment insurance benefits for three months to roughly 1.7 million Americans. The Teapubs are blaming Majority Leader Harry Reid for limiting amendments to the legislation to five (five too many, given their mischief over "Obamacare," the debt ceiling, etc.), but that's a smokescreen.
Wasn't it just a few days ago that Congressional Teapublicans were pretending to care about 2 million jobs would be lost under "Obamacare," which turned out to be a deliberate distortion by them of the CBO report's findings? Yeah, it's the same crowd.
