House Republican leaders are adopting an agreed-upon conservative approach to fixing the nation’s health-care system, in part to draw an election-year contrast with President Obama’s Affordable Care Act.
The plan includes an expansion of high-risk insurance pools, promotion of health savings accounts and inducements for small businesses to purchase coverage together.High-risk pools? That's what would become of guaranteeing health insurance for people with existing conditions. Health savings accounts? Not that again. Inducements for small business ... meaning more tax breaks? Will any of this exist after the mid-term elections? Of course not. The Republican/ New Confederate/ Stupid Party has no interest in this issue beyond it's use as a prod to get their credulous, raging base to the polls, and swaying enough swing voters into thinking the Republicans have serious "ideas." This captures the sham in a (yes, of course, pun intended!) nut- shell:
