Former French President Nicholas Sarkozy (a.k.a. Mr. Carla Bruni) has been placed under investigation by the French legal system for corruption and influence peddling, according to reports. The investigation centers on alleged illegal contributions to Sarkozy's 2007 campaign from the late Libyan dictator Muammar Qaddafi and on obtaining insider information related to the case that involves an investigative judge. Sarkozy served as French President from 2007 to 2012, when he was succeeded by Francois Hollande.
