Just when you thought NBC's Sunday poo-fling couldn't get any worse after Dancin' Dave Gregory was thrown off the roof with a golden parachute, we see that both-sides-do-it hack Chuck "Not My Job" Todd will be joined by none other than poster boy for nepotism Luke "Li'l Tim" Russert and the morning shouter himself, Joe "Joe Squint" Scarborough, as regular panelists on Press the Meat. They apparently couldn't find actual journalists to fill those seats.
It's clear that NBC feels it owes the young son of its departed host, Tim Russert, a role at the network, and as a self-regarding insider born of the Beltway village, Li'l Tim should fit in nicely, as he pretends to be a seasoned reporter. As for Joe Squint, he'll be a reliable regurgitator of Republican conventional wisdom and boosting his favorites like Paul "Lyin'" Ryan and Chris "Krispykreme" Christie when he can. So these are the "exciting plans to evolve and update the broadcast" that NBC News President Deborah Turness spoke of a couple of weeks ago. Hilarious.
