Rethug Fears Come True: "Obamacare's" Working
As enrollments in private sector health plans under the Affordable Care Act (ACA) outpace expectations, and right-wing governors start throwing in the towel and accept Medicaid funds under the ACA, the "dynamite" issue that Republicans thought they had going into the 2014 mid-term elections is not just fading, it's turning in favor of Dems -- if they're smart enough to address ACA's benefits.
The ill-fated Koch brothers ads earlier this year that misrepresented the ACA fizzled, and were quickly debunked through fact-checking. Similar ads that the Rethugs were running against vulnerable Dem House and Senate incumbents aren't getting traction with a public that now sees that "death panels" haven't been convened, insurance rates have actually leveled off, and the number of uninsured (and those getting a free ride from hospital emergency rooms) has dropped off substantially.
It's quite a story, and one that the Rethugs wish weren't true.
