* The uninsured rate fell in 2014 from over 17 percent to 14 percent, an historic low.

* The trade deficit fell to $39 billion, an 11-month low, spurred by lower oil imports.

* The economy added 241,000 jobs in December, up from 227,000 in November, signaling continued robust growth.
