Keystone Cop Quote of the Day

"A video emerged this week of a New York cop, apparently with nothing better to do, horsing around on the hood of a squad car, falling off and hitting his head. It would be hard to invent a more fitting image of the ridiculous — and dangerous — place this atmosphere of sullen insubordination has taken us."  (emphasis added) -- an editorial in today's New York Times, excoriating the behavior of some New York City police in an obvious work slowdown to protest the city's police reform proposals and Mayor deBlasio, who was elected by a landslide in 2013.  Below is the video referred to in the editorial, with the incident recorded from 8 to 10 seconds into the clip.  Remember that these and their fellow officers have taken a solemn oath to enforce the law and to obey civil authorities.
