King and Oy*

Rabid wingnut and future inmate of a mental ward Rep. Steve "Cantaloupe Calves" King (Bigot-IA) was recently musing how Jewish Americans could possibly be Democrats, since they didn't form an "amen chorus" with Israeli Prime Minister Bibi "Bomb Bomb" Netanyahu on his recent campaign stop visit to the U.S.:
"Here's what I don't understand, I don't understand how Jews in America can be Democrats first and Jewish second and support Israel along the line of just following their President."
Leaving aside the fact that there's so MUCH that King doesn't understand,  he certainly can't seem to differentiate support for the ruling Likud Party in Israel and solidarity with Israel itself (which was originally established on a socialist model).  It's the same cultish, neo-Fascist mindset that Rethugs use to differentiate themselves ("real 'Muricans") from the rest ("moochers," minorities, etc.).  Even more fundamentally, King is ignorant of Jewish Americans' long tradition of supporting progressive causes from organized labor to civil rights, and defending the underdog -- since they, too, suffered as a minority over the centuries from zealots like King.  That Jewish tradition stands in stark contrast to the belligerent, intolerant and reactionary views of the nasty bigot from Iowa.
