Maybe This Committee Should Be Investigated

The concerted effort by House Rethugs to politicize the Benghazi Benghazi! BENGHAZI! incident is starting to come apart at the seams.  With admissions over the past couple of weeks by some Rethugs that the purpose of the select committee was to bring down Hillary Clinton's poll numbers (thanks to numbskull Rethug Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy), the broken political press has been forced to reexamine the committee's role and operations.

Yesterday, the Ranking Member of the select committee, Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD) exposed a lie by the committee's chairclown Rep. Trey "Deuce" Gowdy (R-Secessionland) that Secretary Clinton forwarded classified information -- specifically a memo with the name of a confidential intelligence source -- to State Department staff. Cummings shared a memo from the CIA that said that the source's name was not secret, and that Clinton didn't violate any national security regulations.  It turned out that the material leaked by Rethugs on the select committee had names redacted -- but they were redacted by Deuce & Co., not the State Department or the CIA.

Secretary Clinton will be appearing before this kangaroo court on Thursday.  She'll have the wind at her back, and hopefully fire in her words, now that the obvious partisan goal of the committee has been exposed by their own side.
