Mid-Week Birthday Song

Former Beatle George Harrison would have celebrated his 73rd birthday tomorrow.  As the legendary group's lead guitarist, Harrison, who passed away in 2001, later became a successful solo artist in his own right.  His experimentation with Indian raga themes and instruments introduced new audiences that musical culture. His first composition for the Beatles appeared on the first album they released in the U.S. in 1964, "Don't Bother Me." Enjoy.

I love " Don't Bother Me" ! It is the edgiest thing any of them wrote for quite a while in their earliest years. Lennon-McCartney wanna hold my hand, but George growls at me to get lost. Love it!

Thanks, tcg. While the composing team of Lennon & McCartney came to define The Beatles' music, George had some truly wonderful contributions to their legacy, including today's tune.
