We'll Take The High Road, and Rump Takes The Low Road

We noted at the end of the post below no-fascist doofus Donald "Rump" Trump expressed his strong approval of the vote in Britain to withdraw from the European Union, an outcome that was pushed by the racist nationalist UK Independence Party.  His views were expressed as he took a break from being the presumptive nominee for the Rethuglican Party to attend the more important business of opening his golf resort in Scotland. Sadly for him, he knows British politics about as well as he knows the Bible:  Scotland voted strongly to remain in the EU, and they weren't shy about pointing that out to Rump, most pointedly by British pop star Lily Allen:

And,

The Rump disease mirrors a trend in some European countries -- the UK, France and Belgium are examples -- of nativism, xenophobia and racism in the person of an authoritarian political leader and movement; in Britain, as noted below, it's the tax-avoiding demagogue who leads the UK Independence Party, Nigel Farage, whose political positions look remarkably like Rump's on immigration, trade, gun control, even his admiration of Vladimir Putin.

The siren call of "taking our country back" appeals to those who haven't adapted, or don't want to adapt, to a global economy and multicultural society, and who believe that walls instead of roads and bridges are the way to a brighter future.
